Renewable Resources Processing Area was established on August 2005 after approved by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of People's Republic of China. It is one of the state-level renewable resource parks with a planned area of 3.4 square kilometers. It is divided into three functional areas: production and processing area, management service area and pollution treatment area. On August 2007, the park passed through the comprehensive acceptance and it became Shandong Province’s key cultivating recycling economy park and the first batch of energy-saving environmental protection industry bases. In 2014, it was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Finance and became the national demonstration base of 'urban mineral resources' and received 150 million Yuan of funds from the central government and was listed in 18 national level projects. The total investment of the park is 3 billion Yuan and the park will add 684,000 tons of resources, new output value will reach 15 billion Yuan and tax will reach 1 billion Yuan. Currently more than 30 enterprises have settled in the park, and 2 enterprises have obtained disposal qualifications of waste household appliances and electronic waste, and that accounting for Shandong province's 50% amounts.
